About the beer

The story of Sol begins in 1899, at a small brewery in Mexico City called El Salto del Agua. According to the brand's legend, a German master brewer observed a ray of sunlight illuminating the first batch — and named the beer in its honor. More than 125 years later, Sol has become one of the most recognized Mexican beers in the world, present in over 80 countries. Produced by Cervecería Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma — part of the Heineken group since 2010 —, it is brewed with water, barley malt, glucose syrup, and hops. With 4.2% ABV, it is a Mexican-style lager: golden, crystal clear, light-bodied, and low in bitterness. Its name and transparent bottle, which lets the beer shine in the sun, have made it a symbol of moments of celebration and relaxation.
