About the beer

Lupulus was born in 2003, in Courtil, in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, founded by Pierre Gobron under the name Les 3 Fourquets. In 2007, the brand launched the Lupulus beer, paying homage to the plant Humulus Lupulus — the hop. Organicus is the brewery’s organic interpretation of the Belgian Tripel style, certified by Certisys (BE-BIO-01). It is brewed with Belgian-grown Cascade hops, is unfiltered, and is bottle-refermented. The body is golden, slightly hazy, with a creamy foam. Citrus notes predominate in the aroma; on the palate, floral notes are balanced by a pleasant bitterness and a dry finish, characteristic of the style — light in mouthfeel, despite the 8.5% ABV. It pairs well with soft cheeses, such as brie, whose fat is cut by the carbonation and bitterness (contrast). With spicy dishes, the phenols and esters of the Belgian yeast find an echo in the spice aromas (affinity). It accompanies citrus salads, which reinforce the beer's citrus notes (complement). It is also a natural companion for fried snacks, as the carbonation cleanses the palate between bites (cleansing).
