Chimay 150 75 cl
ABV: 10.0%
The Chimay 150, despite its 10% ABV, is remarkably balanced on the palate, and its aromas of mint, bergamot, lime, and eucalyptus take us on a surprising journey! Its delicate notes of rosemary and clove combine perfectly with subtle floral notes, enhanced by an invigorating touch of ginger. A secret spice is also added during production, giving it a unique flavor. Originally produced as a limited edition to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Scourmont Abbey brewery, it is a refreshing, fruity, tasty, and intense beer. Santé!

About the beer
The story of Chimay began in 1850 when the priest of Virelles, Father Jean-Baptiste Jourdain, and the Prince of Chimay, Joseph de Riquet de Caraman, entrusted a mission to a small group of monks from Westvleteren: to settle on the Scourmont plateau with the goal, then as now, of "supporting the Chimay region." To achieve this, they decided to brew beer using the abundant water available on the marshy plateau; the first batch was produced in 1862. Subsequently, they also began producing cheese, which is incidentally the perfect match for Chimay. Brewing knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation to ensure that Chimay's principles are always upheld. Today, it is one of only five Belgian breweries that can display the "Authentic Trappist Product" label. We highly recommend a visit to the Abbey of Notre-Dame de Scourmont.
