About the beer

A Burguesa Imperial Stout 23.01 was aged for 27 months in Rye Whisky barrels, resulting in a deep and complex maturation. The liquid is thick and indecently creamy, where the robust base of dark chocolate, intense coffee, and toasted caramel is elevated by the profile of the rye. In the aroma, the whisky and a bold, spicy note from the rye lend a rebellious character to this “dessert,” perfect for cold days. Due to its alcohol content and wood aging, it may evolve positively in the bottle if kept away from light and at a stable temperature.

Tasting notes:
Dominant aromas of 70% chocolate, espresso, and caramel, with distinct layers of whisky and the characteristic spiciness of rye; a velvety and liqueur-like texture on the palate. The sweet attack of the malt is balanced by the tannic dryness of the wood and the smooth alcoholic warmth.

Pairing:
Dark chocolate-based desserts, intense blue cheeses (such as Roquefort), or medium to full-bodied cigars.
