About the beer

10Y Recovery closes the special anniversary series by Moersleutel, a Dutch brewery from Alkmaar founded by four brothers who build beers 'like engineers — precise, powerful, and full of flavor'. This 14% ABV Barrel Aged Stout is a blend of stout, wheat wine, quad, and tripel, with each component aged in a distinct barrel: French whisky, Heaven Hill bourbon, Woodford Reserve bourbon, maple syrup bourbon, cognac, and single malt scotch. The result is velvety and intense, with notes of dark fruit, cocoa, and lightly toasted oak, wrapped in the spiced warmth of spirits. In the Untappd community, tasters highlight raisins, vanilla, sherry, red wine, chocolate, and almond, with a creamy body and a rich, oily finish. Food pairing: dark chocolate (70%+) enhances the cocoa notes; caramel or toffee desserts accompany the residual sweetness of the bourbon barrels; intense blue cheeses balance the alcoholic warmth with salinity; smoked charcuterie dialogues with the toasted oak notes; due to its intensity, it also works on its own as a digestif.
