About the beer

Lupulus was born in 2003, in Courtil, in the Belgian Ardennes, founded by Pierre Gobron under the name Les 3 Fourquets. The Brune defies the convention of classic dark ales: it is unfiltered, bottle-refermented, with a translucent brown body and bright highlights.

In the aroma, the malt meets a subtle citrus touch; on the palate, the character is smooth and balanced, lacking the usual heaviness of a dark beer, and finishing with a citrusy and surprisingly fresh end — very drinkable for its 8% ABV.

It pairs well with grilled chicken, where the citrus in the dish finds affinity with the beer's finishing notes. It goes well with salads featuring citrus touches, which reinforce this profile (complement). It is also a good companion for mild cheeses, contrasting with its freshness, and the lively carbonation cleanses the palate between bites of charcuterie (cleansing).
