About the beer

Lupulus was born in 2003, in Courtil, in the Belgian Ardennes, founded by Pierre Gobron under the name Les 3 Fourquets.

Hopera crosses the tradition of Belgian yeast with the hoppy character of an IPA — unfiltered and bottle-refermented. In the aroma, fruity notes with hints of pear meet an elegant floral bitterness; on the palate, the body is medium, dry, with a slightly spicy finish from the Belgian yeast accompanying the hop bitterness.

It pairs with goat cheese, whose acidity finds contrast in the beer's bitterness. It accompanies spicy appetizers, where the yeast phenols reinforce the spice (affinity). It is also a good companion for salads with fruit, which echo the fruity notes of the hops (complement), and its lively carbonation cleanses the palate between bites of tempura or fried foods (cleansing).
