About the beer

Founded in 1886 in the Bavaria region by Johann Kienle, Erdinger Weissbräu began its successful journey as a producer of "weizenbier" – weizen (=wheat) bier (beer). The Brombach family was the primary driver of the brewery as we know it today. Mr. Franz Brombach took over the brewery in 1950, passing his legacy on to his son in 1975. To this day, Mr. Werner Brombach manages his brewery so that the tradition, quality, and notoriety associated with the Erdinger brand remain intact in the more than 70 countries where it is present.
