About the beer

Timmermans Fruity Lambics are one of the many successful beers from the oldest brewery in the world. In the production of these beers, fresh, natural fruit is added to a "new lambic." The remaining fermentation takes place with the fruit already incorporated. This blend results in very refreshing beers, in which the sweetness of the fruit is balanced by the acidity of the lambic.

Timmermans beers are produced in Itterbeek, at the oldest lambic brewery still in operation, respecting a tradition of over 300 years. At its origin lies a miracle: the microorganisms found in the air of the Zenne valley come into contact with the beer wort, which then ferments spontaneously. This is why a true lambic is only produced within a 15 km radius of Brussels, in the area known as Pajottenland.

Over the last century, 3 generations of "The Finest Drinks Company" have provided all enthusiasts with a wonderful journey through the world of beer. Today, every second of the day or night, two of their beers are enjoyed somewhere in the world. The secret to this success lies in the "blend" between English tradition and Belgian know-how. John Martin, born in 1886 in Newmarket, UK, moved to Antwerp in 1909 and began by importing English beers, becoming the official importer of Guinness by 1912. But it was only in 1950 that John Martin developed a beer, the Bulldog Pale Ale, later known as Martin’s Pale Ale. In 1992, the "Finest Beer Selection" by Anthony was launched, and a year later, the Timmermans brewery joined the group. Today, this brewing group owns the formula for Guinness Special Export, a version produced in Ireland exclusively for Anthony Martin.
