Basqueland Peñas de Aia is a Double India Pale Ale, bold in character but incredibly smooth on the palate, with a lush, fruity, and unique aroma profile. We reached the summit with our friends from Verdant Brewing in Cornwall to toast with this hop-focused collaborative gem, celebrating our 10th anniversary.
Hops play the leading role in this beer: on one hand, Simcoe and Mosaic, classic varieties that bring familiar aromas with citrus and tropical notes; on the other, Riwaka and Strata, more distinct varieties that provide character, personality, and an unexpected touch that makes Peñas de Aia | Aiako Harria unique.
Body: smooth, rounded, and velvety, thanks to the addition of oats and wheat, both flaked and malted.
Color: pale yellow, very hazy, with a dense, white foam.
Aroma and taste: intensely fruity, with notes of grapefruit, passion fruit, and strawberry, combined with herbal and citrus nuances. The interplay between classic and more adventurous hops creates complexity and a distinctive character.
Finish: intense, fruity, with very little bitterness.
