About the beer

A true Geuze. The first blend from the 2018-2019 production, this geuze is a mixture of 1, 2, and 3-year-old lambic from 8 different barrels (which, in turn, came from 7 different vessels), unfiltered and unpasteurized, and bottle-aged for at least 6 months after blending.

The barrels containing 2 and 3-year-old lambic were brewed by the Boon brewery and make up 40% of the total blend. The continuous fermentation in the bottle gives this Geuze its famous champagne-like spritziness. The lambic is produced using only 60% barley malt, 40% unmalted wheat, aged hops, and water, spontaneously fermented by wild yeasts and matured in oak barrels.

It is the mastery of the blend that creates the complexity of this beer. Founded in 1887 in Beersel, near Brussels, this brewery specializes in spontaneously fermented Gueuze and Kriek beers.
