About the beer

Vetra Bock is the homage from the Italian brewery Vetra, based in Milan, to the Bock style, with 6.3% ABV and 21 IBU. The label itself tells the journey of this style: "departure from Einbeck, passing through Antwerp, then a detour to Ljubljana" — tracing the historical path of the German Bock through Europe until it reaches Vetra's Italian reinterpretation.

The recipe combines Pils, Munich, and Special B malts, responsible for the malty base, the caramel sweetness, and a slight touch of dried fruit. The Styrian Golding and Tettnang Tettnanger hops remain discreet, simply balancing the whole. A bottom-fermented beer, it is a medium-full bodied lager with a soft, velvety finish.

Food Pairing:
Roasted meats — the malty sweetness of the Bock complements the caramelized flavors of grilled or oven-roasted meats.
Intense and aged cheeses — the body and sweetness of the beer balance the intensity and creaminess of these cheeses through contrast.
Dried fruits/Nuts — the caramel and dried fruit note of the malt finds direct affinity with toasted almonds and walnuts.
Caramel desserts — the sweet profile of the Bock reinforces the caramel notes through complement.
