About the beer

10Y Inferno is the ninth chapter in the special anniversary series from Moersleutel, a Dutch brewery from Alkmaar renowned for the intensity of its experimental recipes. At 10% ABV, this Imperial Pastry Stout is crafted to be enjoyed as a liquid dessert. Toasted almonds provide a nutty base, coffee and cocoa nibs add mocha-like intensity, and tonka beans with turbinado sugar lend a warm, spiced caramel glow. Three kilograms of premium vanilla from Ecuador and Uganda flood the glass with smooth richness. According to the brewery itself, the first sip can be overwhelming—it is on the second that the magic begins. Within the Untappd community, tasters confirm the dominant presence of tonka and coffee, with a dense body and almost no foam. Pairing: brownies or chocolate cake reinforce the toasted and chocolatey notes; vanilla ice cream creates a direct echo with the beer; tart red berries cut through the concentrated sweetness; espresso coffee shares the roasted profile; it works on its own as an alternative dessert at the end of a meal.
