Straffe Hendrik Wild 33 cl

ABV: 10.0% · Untappd: 3.62 · IBU: 35

Straffe Hendrik Wild is a literally wild variety of the Tripel, which is produced only once a year! Wild "Brettanomyces" yeast is added to the traditional Straffe Hendrik Tripel, giving it very distinct fruity aromas that harmonize with those of the aromatic Saaz and Styrian hop varieties. The beer is bottle-conditioned for 3 months before reaching the market and can age for several years. It pairs well with appetizers, cheeses, and nuts.

About the beer

The Straffe Hendrik Wild Tripel is a wild variation of the Tripel and is bottled only once a year. This beer undergoes a 3-month secondary fermentation in the bottle with wild yeasts – Brettanomyces – and therefore requires a longer maturation period to be ready: a fresh beer full of flavour.

The beer continues to evolve for at least another 5 years. The bitter hop aromas become milder, while the wild yeasts continue their work, creating fruity, floral and vinous notes.
